57th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute

 

The 57th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute (IPP – NRI) in Poznań, took place on 9–10 February 2017, under the honorary patronage of Krzysztof Jurgiel, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The subject matter of the Scientific Sessions always reflects the latest research in the field of plant protection, points the directions and is a meeting place for the entire community.

In the opening ceremony of the Session, Bogusław Rzeźnicki, Ph.D. – Director of the Department of Plant Breeding and Protection at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, who represented the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, summed up the implementation by the Ministry of Agriculture of the National Action Plan for reducing the risk related to the use of pesticides for 2013–2017.

During the Session, a lot of emphasis was put on the importance of agricultural consultancy in the transfer of knowledge from science to practice in the field of plant protection.

The 57th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – NRI in Poznań participated about 600 people. They were representatives of 75 units, including 6 foreign ones. 47 papers were presented in several thematic blocks: weed control, plant diseases, biological methods, residues of plant protection products, sustainable agriculture and integrated plant protection, plant protection technique, current entomological and nematological problems and other plant protection issues, and 151 posters were presented.
