Project Description:

The Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute participates in the overarching "LivingSoiLL" project as a third-party sub-grant implementer and also serves as the "ROSA" project Leader.

IPP-NRI joined the LivingSoiLL project through an open call, forming a partnership with the Jędrzej Górecki Fruit Farm. This participation places IPP-NRI within the Living Lab Grójec (LL Grójec), established as one of the key activities planned for the LivingSoiLL project. The activities of LL Grójec in Poland are coordinated by the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW).

As part of the "ROSA" project, IPP-NRI, in collaboration with the Jędrzej Górecki Fruit Farm, will focus on developing an innovative, soil-friendly method of apple cultivation. This method will be based on the use of specific biostimulants and mineral compounds, such as fulvic acids, humic acids, and calcium hydrate. These activities aim to enrich the soil with organic carbon, improve its structure and microbiome, and eliminate contaminants, leading to healthier orchards and fruit. The project, running from September 2025 to June 2028, includes extensive educational and dissemination activities, including webinars, seminars, and open days, to promote this sustainable model of fruit farming in Poland and Europe.
