59th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute
The 59th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute (IPP – NRI) in Poznań, took place on 12–14 February 2019. Honorary patronage over the Session was taken by Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski and Marshal of the Wielkopolska Region Marek Woźniak.
On the first day of the Session, young scientists took part in a meeting of the Forum of Young Scientists, where they presented the results of their latest research in the field of plant protection and took part in a panel discussion on how to obtain grants.
The main topic of the panel “Science to the Agricultural Practice” was related to the transfer of scientific research results to agricultural practice. The panel was attended by producers, scientific workers, advisors, inspectors and plant protection organizations who took an active part in the discussion.
On Wednesday, February 13th, the 59th Session of the IPP – NRI was officially opened. The Director of the Institute, Prof. Marek Mrówczyński, welcomed the guests and presented the topics of the Conference. Afterwards, the Minister of Agriculture, Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski, gave a speech. The Minister underlined the important role of scientific research in the field of plant protection in the functioning of a safe environment.
Conference participants took part in lecture and poster sessions, they could also take part in a thematic panel organized by the main sponsor of the Session – BASF company. The thematic panel of the sponsor was mainly devoted to the occurrence and control of diseases in winter wheat.
In the 59th Scientific Session of the Institute of Plant Protection – National Research Institute in Poznan participated over 400 people, 58 papers were delivered and 90 posters were presented. The issues discussed were very broad and varied.
