The Food and Feed Safety Laboratory (LBBZP) conducts pesticide residue research and provides pesticide residue related services for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as for producers, food processors and individuals based specifically on:

  • plant samples (fruits, vegetables, other plant parts),
  • plant-based product samples (juices, dried fruit and vegetables),
  • environmental samples (water and soil),
  • biological samples (bees and bee products).

The Laboratory's main responsibility is to ensure food safety for consumers and eliminate any and all hazards resulting from the use of plant protection products in food production. To ensure the reliability, objectivity and competitiveness of research services, the Laboratory has put in place an effective Management System compliant with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 standard (“General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”). The Laboratory is technically competent and obtains reliable results. The quality of the Laboratory’s tests is confirmed by its:

Accreditation Certificate of the Testing Laboratory No. AB 839 – issued by the Polish Accreditation Center in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02.

Thanks to continuous methodology and procedure improvements and the new skills and experience of our staff acquired in training and research work, the Laboratory has been able to maintain high testing standards and remain competitive in the residue testing sector. In our significantly upgraded facility fitted with advanced specialist equipment, the above has allowed us to meet changing domestic demand and satisfy the individual needs of our results-oriented clients.

The proposed chemical testing meets European Union standards and specifically Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 February 2005 on maximum residue levels of pesticides in or on food and feed of plant and animal origin amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC (Official Journal of the European Union L 70/1, dated 16.03.2008, as amended).

As a Community Reference Laboratory for Pesticide Residues, our facility regularly verifies its competence through successful participation in the European Commission Proficiency Test.
