The Food and Feed Safety Laboratory (LBBZP) conducts research and provides services for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as for producers, food processors and individuals in the area of analysis of pesticide residues in:

  • plant material samples (fruits, vegetables, parts of plants),
  •  plant product samples (juices, dried fruit and vegetables),
  •  environmental samples (water and soil),
  •  biological samples (bees and bee products).

The laboratory's main task is to ensure the food safety of consumers and eliminate any and all hazards resulting from the use of plant protection products in food production.  To ensure the reliability, objectivity and competitiveness of research services, the Laboratory has implemented an effective Management System compliant with the requirements of PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02 norm (“General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories”), is technically competent and obtains reliable results. The quality of the analyses performed at the Laboratory is confirmed by the following certificate:

Accreditation Certificate of the Testing Laboratory No. AB 839 – issued by the Polish Centre for Accreditation in accordance with PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018-02.

Continuous improvement of methodologies, procedures and the acquisition of new skills and experience by staff during trainings and research work contribute to maintaining high standards of analysis and competitiveness on the market of residue studies. The above, combined with dynamic development of the facility and acquisition of modern specialist equipment, allows us to adjust our services to the changing conditions of the domestic market and individual needs of our results-oriented clients.

The proposed chemical analytics is in accordance with the requirements of the European Union: The maximum permissible levels of pesticide residues in food and feed of plant and animal origin and on their surface specified in Regulation (EC) No 396/2005 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 February 2005 amending Council Directive 91/414/EEC (Official Journal of the European Union L 70/1, dated 16.03.2008, as amended).

The Laboratory is a Community Reference Laboratory for Residues of Pesticides and thus regularly verifies its competence through successful participation in the European Commission Proficiency Test.
