  • Studies on the occurrence and economic impact  of maize virus diseases with a special emphasis on Maize dwarf mosaic virus.

  • Detection and identification of new cereal viruses especially transmitted by Polymaxa graminis (soil-borne) and the genus Tobamovirus.

  • Identification and biological, serological, molecular characterization of new important viruses such as: Pepinno mosaic virus, Tomato torrado virus, Olive latent virus 1, spp.Zucchini yellow mosaic virus, Water melon mosaic virus, Papaya ringspot virus, Tomato black ring virus (on zucchini, squash, cucumber, tomato and wild grown plants)  and Beet  soil-borne virus and Q beet virus.

  • Identification of a single mutation in Pepino mosaic virus genome responsible for necrotic type of symptoms on tomato.

  • Development of quick and effective molecular diagnostic methods.

  • Implementation of ELISA test for monitoring of Pepino mosaic virus by laboratories of Regional Inspectorates of Plant Health and Seed Inspection on territory of the  country – or simply ... Inspection in Poland.

  • Detection of possible transmission of Tomato torrado virus by tomato seeds.

  • Detection of Tomato torrado virus transmitted by greenhouse fly and tomato seeds.

  • Development of plant protection recommendations for virus disease control in cereal crops.

  • Generating the most probable three dimensional structure of the entire RNA sequence PSTVd using a new database RNA FRABASE and Isostericity Single Base Replacement, ISBR.

  • Acquisition of the project  WDN–PO–IG.02.01.00–30–069/09–01 “Modernization of laboratories in the scope of plant protection and measures for the economy”. The project is founded under: Measure 2.1 “Development of research centre with high potential”, Priority 2 ”R & D infrastructure”, Operational Programme Innovative Economy 2007–2013.

  • Acquisition of 9 research projects (own and promoter) from  the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (2005–2011).
